Grappler
King
Jaguar wrestler with chain throws that take half your life.
Should you main King?
King is Tekken 8's premier grappler: giant swing, chain throws, Jaguar Step tools, and Heat that makes the throw mix even scarier. He forces a guessing game once he is in range — duck the throw and eat a mid, or stand and get ornated.
Throw breaks and just-frame knowledge raise his ceiling, but even intermediate chain throw routes win at lower ranks. He struggles if you never learn a mid to condition the duck and only spam the same throw.
Pick King if you enjoy command grab mind games and will lab break mixes. Learn one bread-and-butter chain, a mid launcher punish, and how Heat changes your throw threat. Play footsies to earn the grab range rather than running in from full screen every time.
Condition with mids and lows before the ornate; opponents who never have to guess will break every throw. At the wall, know which throw carries and which leaves you plus. Heat should amplify a mix you already practiced, not excuse mashy unsafe strings.
