Chun-Li

Best normals in the game, a stance and long combos. Footsies queen.

Should you main Chun-Li?

Chun-Li is a mid-range footsies monster: long normals, strong anti-airs, and pressure that leans on her buttons more than raw command grabs. She rewards players who like poking, converting light confirms, and controlling the screen without sitting full screen forever.

Her execution is higher than Ryu's on Classic, especially for denser confirms. Modern can help you enter her game plan while you learn which normals beat which buttons. She struggles if you refuse to learn spacing and instead jump in every exchange.

Pick Chun-Li when you enjoy the mid-range dance and want a character that still teaches fundamentals. Lab anti-air consistency and a punish counter route. Spend Drive on Rush when you have earned plus frames, not as a panic approach from full screen.

Her best rounds are ugly: blocked pokes, a single confirm, a dash-up throw, then back to neutral. Chase highlight combos after you can consistently anti-air jump-ins and punish negative buttons. If someone Perfect Parries your predictable mid-range string, shorten the sequence and re-earn respect with throws.
