Lux
the Lady of Luminosity
Long-range binding mage with an ult that's always on cooldown; a classic first champion.
Should you main Lux?
Lux is a long-range mage who works mid or support: Light Binding roots, Prismatic Barrier shields allies, Lucent Singularity zones and slows, and Final Spark is a global-ish laser that finishes fights from fog. She teaches skillshot timing without demanding melee mechanics.
As support she provides poke and pick setup for an ADC; as mid she waveclears and looks for side-lane ult snipes. She is fragile and telegraphed — good players dodge Binding and punish her when Singularity is down.
Main Lux if you like landing skillshots from the edge of vision and you are fine being kited when someone gaps closes. She is one of the better first mages for new accounts. Move toward higher-agency mages once you outgrow standing still to charge every laser.
Bind the flashiest threat first in teamfights, then drop Singularity on the escape path rather than on top of your own frontline. Final Spark through fog of war wins more games than lasers everyone saw charging; ward the river so those snipes are real.
