Axe
Call, spin, Culling Blade. The simplest initiation in the game and a lane bully.
Should you main Axe?
Axe is the offlane initiator: Berserker's Call taunts a camp into your helix, Battle Hunger slows and damages until they kill a unit, Counter Helix procs while you are attacked, and Culling Blade executes low targets and resets. He wants to be hit by many heroes at once.
Blink Call into five heroes is the dream; walking from fog without items is the nightmare. Itemization usually goes toward Blink, then durable or aura items so he can stay in the middle of every fight.
Main Axe if you enjoy starting fights and tracking enemy health for Cull thresholds. Farm enough for Blink, then look for overextended cores. When behind, defensive Calls near your carry matter more than fountain dives.
Call the maximum number of heroes you can punish, Helix in the middle, and save Cull for the execute that resets — dumping Cull on a full-health Tank wastes the reset. Ward the Blink path so your Call is a surprise, not a telegraphed walk down mid.
