Overview

MainFinder ("we", "us") runs mainfinder.app — free character quizzes. This policy explains what little data we process, how cookies work, and how advertising may appear in the future.

Children (COPPA)

MainFinder is a general-audience gaming site. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact contact@mainfinder.app and we will delete it.

What we collect

• Quiz answers stay in your browser (sessionStorage). They are not sent to our servers for scoring.
• Share links encode only a game id and character slug in the URL path or query string. Anyone with the link can see that result.
• Cookie notice preference is stored in localStorage on your device so we do not re-show the banner every visit.
• Vercel Web Analytics collects aggregated, privacy-friendly page-view metrics (pages visited, referrers, basic device / country aggregates). It is designed not to use invasive cross-site advertising cookies.
• Hosting logs from Vercel may briefly include standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, URL) for security and reliability.

Cookies

Today MainFinder does not set advertising cookies. We may use essential cookies or local storage for the cookie notice and (via our host) operational needs. If we enable Google AdSense or similar ads later, third-party cookies or similar technologies may be used to serve and measure ads. When that happens, this policy and the on-site cookie notice will be updated, and ads.txt will list the authorized sellers.

Google AdSense (future)

We may show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other sites. You can learn more and opt out of personalized ads via Google's ad settings. We do not sell your personal information.

How we use information

Aggregated analytics help us understand which quizzes are popular and whether pages load reliably. Contact emails you send are used only to respond. We do not build advertising profiles from quiz answers.

Sharing

We use Vercel for hosting and Web Analytics. If AdSense is enabled, Google acts as an advertising partner. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service.

Retention

Browser storage lasts until you clear it. Analytics aggregates are retained according to Vercel's practices. Email you send is kept as long as needed to handle the request.

Your choices

You can clear site data in your browser, use tracking protection, or block cookies. The quizzes still work without accepting advertising cookies. For privacy requests, email contact@mainfinder.app.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change when we do. Material advertising changes will also be reflected in the cookie notice.
