Genji

Cyber-ninja with deflect and a reset dash; the classic high-skill flanker.

Should you main Genji?

Genji is a flank Damage hero: Shuriken poke or fan, Deflect returns projectiles, Swift Strike dashes for resets on eliminations, and Dragonblade is a close-range ultimate that demands peeling Supports. He thrives when he can approach from off-angles and slash a beam or projectile Support.

He has a steep learning curve: animation cancels, deflect timing against specific ultimates, and blade engagements that need Nano or Discord setups in coordinated play. Solo queue blades into full health tanks usually fail.

Pick Genji if you will grind blade routes and deflect windows. Warm up shuriken tracking. Dive with a Tank who creates space, and save Swift Strike for the reset rather than the engage whenever you can. Swap when the enemy runs heavy hitscan that deletes you mid-dash.

Deflect the abilities that actually kill you — hooks, sleep darts, charged shots — and ignore junk that wastes the window. Blade wants a stripped target or a discord/nano setup; walking into a full-health Orisa with no dash reset is not a high-skill play, it is a free cooldown dump.
